Creating knives isn't just a business for me; it's a passion deeply rooted in a love for knife making. Our humble Michigan workshop is where each piece of cutlery comes to life. I started this company with only the bare essentials required to make a high quality product. A good majority of the equipment and materials have been sourced from my local communities here in Michigan and around the mighty Upper Peninsula.

Starting Cavanaugh Knife Company modestly was extremely important to me and has allowed me to stay away from banks. This keeps your hard earned money invested into growing this company rather than on loan interest. The only interest now will be paid back to deserving fundraisers and people in need of reciprocated support.

I value our community and our foundation will always be built on the respect that these products are not just tools but rather an extension of the hands that use them. I’m grateful for the support that this young company already has and I will continue to work hard to earn your trust and deliver great products and service. 

Each purchase not only makes a living for me— but they also make a life and give me what we are all working for— freedom. Freedom to not miss that hunt with my old birddog or time with friends and family a 9-5 often takes away. I may have to stay up all night if that’s what it takes to get you your new kitchen set or knife but it’s a fair trade and I give you my humblest appreciation for affording me this life and fairness.
